How does this relate to building your online audience?
These are all terms that play a key role in attracting, engaging, and converting your target audience.
What needs to happen in any marketing effort is identifying who your customer is. Is your ideal customer a baby boomer, millennial, gen-z, gen-x, or are you looking for randoms? Do random’s have an interest in your product? Can they afford you? Are they local? Do you know the age, shopping habits, physiological traits, interests, genders, ages, location of your ideal customer? There are many variables in determining who your customer is.
The more questions you ask, the more you know, the more powerful your digital marketing campaigns will be. You would be surprised at how many inquiries I get and the potential client has no clue at who they want to sell to.
You have to know as much as possible, including their:
- Personality traits.
Knowing all of this will help you:
- Come up with an accurate list of topics and keywords to target.
- Set up your pages to convert more effectively.
- Create a great user experience.
- Optimize your content.
- Craft the perfect message to cause your readers to take action.
- Find key influencers in your market.
Once you identify who you’re trying to convert into customers and building an audience on social media as CRM, you can start building trust and value with the content for your audience based on interests, values, opinions, and personality traits.
As a business owner, I know who my customer is: Doctors, Lawyers, Small-Medium Business Owners, Insurance Agents, Luxury Real Estate Brokers, Restaurant Owners, Solar & Construction. Depending on the focus of the month, I create content that speaks to them, and oftentimes, convert my targeted and strategic audience into buying customers or foster referrals.
How do you create content that would appeal to a business owner? I know the common interests: Reading, Motivation, Success Stories, Golfing, Biking, Vacations, Cars, Wealth……Those are just a few. Then I talk about that online, doing tremendous research and testing along the way until we fine-tune the process. Then test it out for a minimum of 6-12 months. After it’s proven and a profitable result is attained, we offer it, clients, to help them be set up for the best chances of success.
You’re not just trying to “hard sell”. People of value and wealth do not like the quick – high-pressure sales tactic and it will repel them immediately. I know this as I get repelled when someone tries to do this to me. Often times, I’m underestimated due to my youthful appearance, however, that doesn’t stop the right clients from deciding to do business with a reputable and honest brand with over 30 years of combined marketing and business experience.
By humanizing your brand, building up a strategic target audience, and posting quality content consistently, the chances increase of your success. It works.
The biggest take away is this, quality over quantity any day – the audience you attract doesn’t have to be millions of followers of fans – a handful of the right customers are more valuable than a bunch of random’s who have no interest in your business or product.
